Week Three

Objectives:

  • To find datasheet for all of the sensor that being used in existing project
  • To choose the most suitable sensor for our project


Procedure:

This week need to find datasheet for all of the sensor that being used in existing project. The sensor that been used in existing project is accelerometer, piezoelectric and FSR. After all datasheet been studied, accelerometer had been chosen because two of three of our references articles using accelerometer.

Week Two

Objective:
  • To find the equation for calories burn by using footsteps

Procedure:
This week we need to find formula to calculate calories burn by using footstep. So, the simplest equation that we got is from Calories burn calculation . In this formula need to have weight in pound (lbs). To find calories burned per mile = 0.57 x weight. = calories per mile. Steps per mile assumed as 2000 steps. So, to get calories burn for each step = (0.57 x weight) / 2000  .

Week One

Objective:

  • To find three journals that related to our project
  • To study the hardware and software that used in their project
Procedure:
We had google articles that related with our project and article that we can refer to make our project. The first article we got article 1. This project using PIC16F684 as the microcontroller,Xbee as medium for data transfer and accelerometer MMA7660FC as the sensor to detect steps.

Second article that we got is article 2 . This project using AT Mega644V MCU  as microcontroller, the RZ502 wireless module  as the data medium and KXP74  tri-axis digital accelerometer.


Lastly, the article from past fyp project by our senior, Mohd Fadzli Mohd Fuzi which entitle "Pedometer". In this project, it used Arduino Nano as the microcontroller, Bluetooth V3 as the data transfer and Force Sensitive Resistance (FSR) sensor to detect footstep.

Introduction

Purpose of this blog

Hi, my name is Nurul Hidayah binti Ghazali. I am student from Unikl BMI and taking Diploma of Engineering Technology in Medical Electronics .
This blog is for me to write progress of my final year project which entitle " Development of Health Monitoring Shoes" with my partner, Aina afrina binti Hasram. This blog is specially dedicated for our project supervisor, Sir Mohd Syazwan Md Yid.

Introduction about project

Our project is basically to develop a shoes on wireless health monitoring system using footsteps to calculate the calories burn. The circuit used is integrated at the insole of the shoe to count the footsteps by using FSR sensor. The LCD will display information on calories burn and footsteps wirelessly via bluetooth.
