Labview Exercise

This post is basically about our first exercise using Labview software during laboratory class on last tuesday. The task is to generate output from analogue trainer to simulate the output display in the Labview. There are 3 wave which are:
i) Triangle with 3Vp-p
ii) Square with 1.5Vamp
     iii)Sinusoidal with 2.5Vrms

First of all, DAQ USB 6210 been connected with laptop because this is as interpreter between function generator and Labview software. Then input channel Al1 been connected at output of function generator and connect ground at DAQ with ground at function generator.

For the first task, the output of function generator is displaying at the DAQ Assistant. The triangle wave had been choose as the type of waveform. Adjust the amplitude until it get 3Vp-p which is the upper peak is 1.5V and the lower peak at -1.5Vp which the distance between upper peak to lower peak is 3V.

Then, click OK and it will display the block diagram window, then click beside of "data" in the DAQ Assistant and choose create then choose graph indicator. It will show a oscilloscope icon, then connect it with DAQ Assistant.

Click at the oscilloscope icon and it will appear oscilloscope display at Front Panel window. Then, click "Run" which is symbol of black arrow → and the output signal will appear.

For the second task, square wave been set on the function generator and repeat all the same steps for task 1.

To get the the waveform only in positive value because the task mentioned 1.5Vamp. So change the starting value reading of voltage to 0 as it should be in positive only.

Last but not least, for task 3 required sinusoidal waveform so set it as sin wave at the function generator. Click t the DAQ Assistant to see the output display and need to calculate Vrms using formula Vrms= Vp √2 and it needs 3.6Vpeak to get 2.55Vrms.

So that's all for Labview Exercise 1 and until we meet again🙂.

Week Fourteen

Objective:

  •  To present about our Final Year Project
  •  To make Final Report

Procedures:

This week we we had doe the presentation for our project. Our project assessor are Mdm Zarith Liyana & Mdm Zabariah. Here a few picture during the day.

With our assessors

We also start making Final Report because we need to submit the draft to our supervisor by this week. So, here the end of my Final Year Project title "Development of Health Monitoring Shoes".

Week Thirteen

Objectives:

  • To troubleshoot circuit and coding
  • To make casing for circuit and project
  • To make a poster about our project

Procedure:

We troubleshooted the circuit, one LED had been replaced. We borrowed PIC burner from our senior to burn the coding into the PIC. After we had burn the coding, we try run the circuit and the circuit is successful. Every project have limitation, our project limitation is the sensor will keep counting when there no pressure on it because we had program the sensor to detect step when the user lift heir leg. This to avoid from the sensor keep counting step when the user stop walking if the sensor set to count step when there have pressure on it.

Then we had make casing for the circuit. The transmitter circuit need to be attached to the user leg.

We also done our poster for next week presentation days for Final Year Project. Below is our poster.

Week Twelve

Objective:

  • To buy component that needed to build circuit
  • To construct circuit based on simulation

Procedure:

This week we went to Jalan Pasar to buy components and takes our sensor that been  order. We still used the simulation circuit as our circuit event the simulation not running well. So, here is the list of our components:

  1. Resistor
  2. Capacitor
  3. PIC16F877A
  4. LCD
  5. LED
  6. Bluetooth Module
  7. Force Sensitive Resistance
  8. Push Button
  9. Battery 9V
  10. Voltage Regulator
  11. 4Mhz Resonator
  12. Rectifier Regulator
  13. PCB Board

After that, we design the PCB of our project circuit that we also used Proteus. We printed the PCB layout on glossy paper. To attach the ink of circuit layout to the PCB board, we ironed the paper to the PCB between 8 to 10 minutes. After ironed, the PCB needed to be soaked and shaken in a Ferrite Chloride to remove the unused copper. After finished, we need to make sure that all the connection of line in good condition. If have any line disconnect, just add the connection with marker pen. We drilled holes at the PCB board to put component's leg. Then, we arranged the circuit according to the simulation and solder the component .

Week Eleven

Objective:

  • To complete the simulation for the circuit
  • To adjust the coding according to the circuit that been simulated

Procedure:

This week we completed our simulation in Proteus. Bluetooth does not have in the list of component in the Proteus so we download file to add Bluetooth in list of component in the Proteus. Here is the link to download the file for Bluetooth : Bluetooth for Proteus
Before this we just connect both of the PIC tx and rx leg with jumper wire, so now we already replaced it with Bluetooth in the Proteus.

To completing the coding, we asked help from my partner's cousin that have more experiences in doing microcontroller to combine codings that we had found before this. Finally the coding was completed. To test either the project success or not, we try to combine the coding in the Proteus. When we ran the circuit, all the connection working but the LCD did not display anything. The LCD did have connection, maybe because not all pin of the component have in the simulation.

Week Ten

Objective:

  • To learn how to write final report/ thesis

Procedure:

This week we have class for the final report writing that handle by Miss Pusparini Dewi bin Abd. Aziz at TTL1,Unikl BMI from 2.30pm until 5.30 pm. Distribution of percentage for the final report are:

  1. Abstract (10%)
  2. Introduction (10%)
  3. Literature Review (10%)
  4. Methodology (20%)
  5. Result & Discussion (30%)
  6. Conclusion & Future Development (10%)
  7. Organization/Format (10%)
They also provide details of final report format which contains about font type and size, margin of page, spacing and etc. Here I attached a picture and link for example guideline to write final report.

Week Nine

Objective:

  • To find datasheet for new component
  • To order sensor

Procedure:

For this week, we need to find data sheet for our new component  which are Force Sensitive Resistance and Bluetooth HC-05 & HC-06.

When we went to Jalan Pasar to survey price for our sensor, most of the component's shop does not sell FSR. Finally we found a shop that sells the sensor but we need to order because they need to order from supplier. So, we order our sensor.
